Export Details from Active Directory 2003 to an excel file

Hi,

I need to export details from A.D to an excel file. Basically, it needs to be email address, job title and name? Is there anyway that this can be done without having to buy 3rd party softyware(free is poss).

Cheers

You can use CSVDE from a server:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc787549.aspx

or install ADAM on your XP workstation

The default usage of this command exports information into comma delimited format with the filename you specify after the -f option.
the -L option is the list of attributes you would like to get. You can specify a -R option to set the restrictions, if you want to limit results to just user objects.
csvde -L mail,title,sn,givenName -R (objectClass=user) -f AD_details.csv

if you only want active users, try this
csvde -L mail,title,sn,givenName -R (&(objectClass=user)(!useraccountcontrol:1.2.840.113556.1.4.803:=2)) -f AD_details_active_accounts_only.csv

The user account control line is an attribute that is broken down into bits, so this is how the LDAP query must be formatted to access special information, such as whether the user is not disabled.
