Jumping down to validated field

Have a form we use for ordering hardware. The main body of the form is setup in a 2 column table. On the most recent version we added a Yes/No question that they are required to respond to in order to proceed. Nothing out of the ordinary here.

What I am having an issue with is when I test the form, I enter a name in the first row, when I tab to move to the second field I get prompted with the validation ressponse. Strange thing is this validated field is 6 rows into the table yet it is going right there. I get the Notes error - did not apss validation after the validation response below.

I have tried numbering the tab sequence, but it is still going right to this question when I tab out of field 1. I have confirmed it is in the Input Validation section for this field, but cannot figure out why it is jumping right there out of sequence.

Any ideas?

It would be very hard to say why the validation formula is firing out of order without seeing the form in the designer.  Validation formulas usually execute from the top to the bottom of the form.

On another topic, are you sure that you want the validation formulas executing every time the form is refreshed?  I normally only allow mine to run when the document is being saved.  If you want to check your fields only when the form is being saved, use the @IsDocBeingSaved function...

    @If(
      !@IsDocBeingSaved; @Success;
        terms_signoff = "" ; @Failure ("You must respond to the question regarding the signature page and acceptance.");
        @Success);

Did not know of that method of validation. That will be very helpful.
