Tying to bring clean up an old Pix 501 I have. I would like to upgrade the IOS to the latest available. However I am not able to find a lot of info about the 501 since Cisco has sunset the product.

Tying to bring clean up an old Pix 501 I have. I would like to upgrade the IOS to the latest available. However I am not able to find a lot of info about the 501 since Cisco has sunset the product.

What is the highest IOS I can put on a Cisco Pix 501

Cisco PIX is a dedicated hardware firewall appliance; the Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) is a firewall and anti-malware security appliance that provides unified threat management and protection the PIX does not. Other Cisco devices and systems include routers, switches, storage networking, wireless and the software and hardware for PIX Firewall Manager (PFM), PIX Device Manager (PDM) and Adaptive Security Device Manager (ASDM).
