I have a poweredge 2850 and powervault 220s connected to the poweredge. is the proper shutting down methods as follows. first, you shutdown the poweredge server. Once the server is off then you shutdown the powervault by switching the two switches on the back of the powervault. Is this correct?

hi,
generally speaking, the procedure to halt/restart a storage,
MUST follow the principle:
While the storage Halts or Starts, nobody has to access it.

Storage have not power button or restart one, to avoid
errors: when you decide to poweroff,
detach Power (switching the two switches on the back)

Use a LIFO strategy.

Then, when you shutdown it, fisrt shutdown servers, switch, for last storage.
When you start storage, first powerup it, wait it ends its boot, then power switches, then servers.

bye
