asterisk takes long time to process dial out

Asterisk takes long time to process dial out calls. After some time it returns saying that number not valid or please check the number and dial again. But same number from my cell phone it works.
Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Can you please describe in detail your Asterisk setup?

Hi,

Please start your asterisk server in debugging mode using ;

# asterisk -vvvvvr

And paste the errors while dialing.

Hi All,
I appriciate your help, but I solved the problem. As I was going through the log, I came to know that the problem was with the E1/T1 card. because when I dial a number asterisk does its jobs very fine, once it has been given to the Zap channel, the particular zap channel answered the request and Asterisk hands it over to the SIP channel, (Zap/xx answered SIP/yy-abcdef) But after then nothing happens.
So I thought it might be some problem with the T1 card. So after I replaced it with the new card, everything is fine.
