Microsoft Exchange OWA missing images

I am running Exchange Server and have developed a problem with OWA. The symptoms are as follows:

You can log into OWA but none of the images show up. Also When you look at Exchange services, Exchange Event is not running. It starts, but stops right away.

The service you have indicated has nothing to do with this issue. Not all services are designed to be running all the time.

The problem you have seen is usually caused by incorrect permissions on the /exchweb virtual directory in IIS manager. Ensure that ANONYMOUS only is enabled for the authentication type. If you have to change it, then run IISRESET from a command prompt before testing.

OK Thanks. Close enough. Someone disabled the account  for  ANONYMOUS authentication. I reenabled it and and after typing IIRESET everything is fine. Of course, nobody owns up to disabling the account.
