I tried to install VMware Server in Windows 2003 server which is fully updated. It encounters an error during the stage "Preparing for 'VMware Server' installation". The first error says: 'A required resource appears to be corrupted'. When I click OK, it shows second message: 'Setup cannot continue. The Microsoft Runtime DLL Installer failed to complete installation.'
I tried it a few times with same result.
Q#1. Is it hardware issue or software issue?
Q#2. If software issue, how to fix it?

Thanks a lot.

VMware Server version (v1.0 or v2.0) which you are trying to install ?

Please check with the md5 hashes available in VMware Website to verify the integrity of the Setup File which you have downloaded.

I can install it on another machine so it should mean the download is ok.
