A Cisco 7941 phone will not pick up or answer with the headset.

I have a Cisco 7941 phone that will not get a dial tone when you pick up the handset.  Is there a setting in the Call Manager that would cause this, or is there a hardware problem and the phone needs to be replaced?

Is it handset or headset or both?  If it is both, is the phone successfully registering with Call Manger and getting an IP?  If it is registering OK and you can not get a dial tone on handset or headset, then it is likely the phone.

It is only a handset.  It registers OK, and works OK with the speakerphone.  It just won't do anything when you pick up the handset.

The phone does not go off-hook when the handset is picked up.  It must be a hardware issue with the switch hook.
