The memory usage of the process "sqlservr.exe" when it higher , the performance of SQL Server  was better

After applying windows update and configuring larger virtual memory, the memory usage of
"sqlservr.exe" has come down and so is the performance

I like to find if, I can tweak any parameters at SQL Server engine to make "sqlservr.exe" use larger memory allocation. If I can find a link to any article that treats this subject, it will be great too

currently min server memory is 0 , max server memory is a very large amount

Thanks

the speed change is due to virtual memory usage. you can not control when windows will push the application memory to page file.  in the second scenario SQL memory is getting flushed to page file due to which the memory in the task manager shows less than what it is using.

use process explorer for better inforamtion about the SQL server process
