var not working in mc

I have a mc with multiple dynamic text fields and they work perfect when the mc loads but if I call for that mc to change frames the var don't work. For example on my movie clip I have 2 frames and in frame one I have a text field text1 and it works but in frame 2 I have a text field text2 it does not work but if I have text2 in frames 1 and 2 it works. How do I get the text2 to show up in frame 2 without being in the first frame.

Thanks Jerry

This is hard to explain, but here goes.

If you create 2 layers, one with text1 on frame 1 and one with text2 on it, make sure frame 1 of layer 2 has a keyframe in frame 1 containing text2, place the cursor on frame 1 of layer 2 and then insert a new frame (F5?) to shift text2 to frame2, then delete the instance of text2 in frame 1, this should make the frame 1 white with a hollow dot and frame 2 will have a solid dot

Not sure I think I did that but still had the problem, I'm going to explain my problem better or try to, in my movie clip I have 2 frames one labeled off and one labeled over I then have a function that calls the movie clip to go to either off or over. Now the dynamic text field in frame one works great the dynamic text field in frame 2 doesn't work. If I place the dynamic text field across both frame it works then but defeats the purpose of having a role over.

Thanks
