send emails to a group

I sell software written in vb6 and have a lot of customers who have bought my software. I use outlook 2000 and have these customers in a folder. What would be the best way to send them all an email informing them of updates. I do not really know where to start.

What do you mean when you say, "have these customers in a folder"?  Does that mean you have messages from them in a folder or you have a folder full of customer contacts?

Their purchase confirmation email is stored in a folder. The email contains, all the purchase info, date transaction number, phone unlocking code, emai address etc. I also have them in a excel file with the emails all being in a column. Just don't know where to start with this.

If you need to send a message to them immediately, then it'd be simple enough to script creating messages using the addresses from the spreadsheet.  In the long term I recommend creating contacts from the data in the confirmation emails.  Depending on how those messages are laid out that might be pretty easy it too.

are you saying that when i recieve these emails i should somehow save the email addresses in outlook ?

That's what I'd recommend.  It's a lot easier to send messages to contacts and it jsut seems to me to make sense.  It's certainly not a requirement though.
