Crystal Reports 8.5: Error: Too many open files

Hi,
I have a windows service which opens crystal reports, creates the reports and then exports it to pdf.  based on certain data.
We had a release recently in which there are multiple reports that can be generated at once.
After this, sometimes we get an error that says " too many open files" causing the application to fail. The reports are generated one after the other, but still there could be multiple threads doing this.
We are not sure if there is a limit in crystal to create files, or why this issue is occurring.

Could anyone help us in letting us know why this could be occurring and also how this could be resolved.

Thanks in advance.

THere is a limit in Crystal of having 5 connections open at any time.  A report may actually open multiple connections.

Since you are using CR8.5 I suspect you can't get a license for more connections anymore.

Unless you explicitly close and release the connections in the application they can remain open for up to 15-30 minutes after the report is rendered and printed/exported.
