how to query database with xcode

how do i query a datatabse with xcode? Specifically Sql server. Thank you.

It seems there is  not other way currently but through ODBC. So this is a C API, quite wel explained at

the original  ODBC stuff from Microsoft is documented at:

It seems there is at least one commercial tool available

I'm not sure if some odbc software is installed by default but there are two implementation for Unices

unixodbc: http://www.unixodbc.org/

For a portable solution you may try the QT toolkit which may or may not have classes for accessing Databases from C++ programs

Which one in specific will work on the iphone OS?

I guess for iphone you better use CoreData, that' s not a really DB stuff but I guess it's the nearest you can get. I have not access to an iphone but I could imagine that compiling SQLite on it should be doable and that would be a nice embeddable SQL engine....
