hi all
can anyone tell from the below logs what has infected the laptop i took it from?

something keeps attempting internet connection in the back ground as i have an internet proxy enabled and the authentication box keeps opening !!

also, i can install spybot, but what ever is on the machine is stopping me from running it!

Log file is clean other than that.
If you can log on as a different user (different profile) try to run your antimalware application.
If you can, download and update malwarebytes.

It's small enough that you can install it from a thumbdrive. (USB)
Once updated, reboot into Safe Mode (F8 at startup) and run your scans.

You might also try Combofix. Please read and follow the directions. Combofix needs to be saved as a different name than its default as some malware prevents it from running under its original name.
Meaning Combofix.exe should be changed to a save name of CFix.123 (as an example)
Once it's downloaded then change the extension from .123 to .exe and run.
