8150N EIO Slot - No Link Lights

Ok, I have an 8150N that stopped working. It prints config pages just fine so it isn't the 'printer' per se.

I have two others so I have switched out parts and eliminated the JetDirect card itself. I tried another EIO unit (has 3 eio slots in it) and that didn't do anything.

The link lights won't light up and the config page shows EIO 1, 2, and 3 are not there. The same Jet Direct card and cable work fine on another machine.

What would be bad?  Maybe whatever the EIO unit slides into? I have checked the connection and feel a positive connection when I slide it in.... so I'm convince it is seated.

Try a firmware update to the printer .
Put the card back in & do a Cold Reset. To do a Cold Reset:
1. Remove the LAN cable.
2. Press & hold the Online/Go button while turning it on & continue to hold it until the display shows Cold Reset, then release it, wait for Ready, then turn it off again.
3. Connect the LAN cable & turn it back on.
4. Wait 2 minutes for discovery & DHCP. If desired, change the DHCP & address settings.
5. Print a config page & see the IP address.


If that doesn't work then the formatter is probably bad. Tryt swapping with another machine.

I tried the cold reset. I also let it sit there with the network cable attached for a long while with no results...

I didn't do the setting the IP and the DHCP but that shouldn't matter too much to at least get it to show up on the EIO section of the config report.
