I have a user who has been setup about 3 months ago, this person as does everyone in the business has their own role, now i have been asked by management to change this persons email to be "jobrole@domain.com" instead of "thispersons.name@domain.com", ok now doing that is simple enough but i need to make sure anyone sending emails to the old address get notified of the change and their email gets automatically redirected to the new address.
System Details;
Small Business Server 2003,
Exchange Email,
I have administrator rights.

Thanks Kyle

well to complete without notifying the sender do the followng:
Add the new address to her profile, make it the primary address and the old e-mail address the secondary, that way she will always send as the new address, she can tell people about her new address if need be.

other wise the complicated way is:

1. Change her e-mail address.
2. reate a new user, setup an auto reply from that user stating what you want, forward e-mail from the new user ( with the old address) to the existing user ( with the new address)
this can be done through ADUNC then finding the user, clicking on the exchange general tab, the ngoing to delivery options and setting a forwarding address.

hope this helps

a little complicated but should work.

Thanks, it works when sending within the domain, just waiting to see if it works outside the domain.
