My Vista installation on my Acer Asprie 5520G is broken.  How can I use the "recovery partition" to;
A) Recover it
or
B) Get drivers etc. for another Windows installation
*I have seen posts (for other Acers) about a key-combination to get to it, but I don't get it to work.
* I have an external enclosure
* I can probably boot to another Windows installation

I have tried that combination.  My main idea is that since I have access to the drive from Windows, I should be able to burn a recovery DVD for example.

that's not sure, since the partition is always compressed
