Is it possible to disable SMTP authentication for a single account?

We're testing an e-mail notification software, but it will only work if the sever doesn't require authentication.  The full version supports it, but we can't convince management to buy it without successful testing.  Is there a way to disable authentication for one account so that we can test this software?

Thanks in advance.

If this software is on a different server just allow relaying from that IP address and you shuold be fine.

The software will be installed directly on the server, so is the relay necessary?

It should not be necessary if it is on the same server.
