Outlook Indexing Problem

When trying to do a search of my in box, I get a messages that says. "Instant Search encountered a problem while trying to display search results."  When I click on the tag for more info it says, "Outlook is currently indexing your items."

After three days of fooling with it I've decided to ask the experts. It is not indexing, as it says anyway, as the items listed never change.

Thanks
David

I've tried (am doing) what was suggested in fix Instant Search but t don't think the problem is fixed. The system is indexing but extremely slow, after 15 minutes the indexing status was 5 now an hour later it is 31 and there are 1700 items in my inbox.  In going to Tools, Options and clicking on Search Options when i check the box Person Folders to index, i get an error when I close the dialog box stating, "A problem was encountered while tryi9ng to change which data files to index." When i reopen the box the Personal Folders is unchecked.

When i did the scan and repair of the pst file it did find and repair some items successfully

In checking your second suggestion on Rebuilding the Indexer, the link referred to in the file was not available and the information seemed to be more appropriate to desktop search.

Thanks
David
