There are a couple fields that vary greatly in size that are shown in checkboxes. Is there a way to make a field resize to fit its contents to show in multiple columns? When I try to just should a list of the contents of the field it shows in one column.

There are actually two questions, which I did not articulate well. The first is if I have a list that is displayed as a checkboxes, is there a way to have it automatically resize as the list could grow substantially?

In the second question I want to show a list of items that were checked. This will be only a read only view for quick review. When I do this it shows everything in one column with line breaks between items. Is there a way to revise this to make it comma delimited with word wrap or to show in multiple columns?

comma delimited: you could with another field, calculated = original field with return code subsituted for ','. which means a check box list is in fact a return delimited string in a text field.
2b columns: you can resize the field, make it wider and less high, it will try fo fit data inside, so you can get all combinations from 1vertical column, several lines to a 1 horizontal line several checkboxes
