I have a report I have made with crystal reports. I have hooked it up to MSSQL server. I did that by right clicking in field explorer "Database Fields" and then on "Database Expert" problem is that does not allow me to change the query to what I need. Right now its select all records in the database I need to throw a WHERE clause in there. How can this be done?

This is being loaded by a vb.net program.

I think what your looking for would be found in Reports / Edit Selection Formula / Record.

Might be different depending on your version.  You use this section to filter your results.

Only thing im finding is this
Crystal Reports -> Report -> Selection Formula -> Record

WHen I go in there I copy the query into a box in there and says thers a error when its the query that it uses currently to get data.

Does this sound like im in the right spot?

Sounds like the right place..   What your looking to put in here is not really a full query, but rather the a type of WHERE Clause.

use the builder to put in something like

{AR.NamedInsured} = 'Named Insured'
