OPENROWSET to connect from SQL Server 2005 to MySQL

I am trying to use OPENROWSET to connect from SQL Server 2005 to MySQL.  Has anyone been able to do that before?

yes, I have done that.
you need:
? to install the mysql odbc driver on the ms sql server machine
? create a linked server using that (i used a odbc administrator dsn entry to simplify the linked server config.
