SBS 2003 Exchange Journaling

I'm configuring SBS 2003 to communicate with MS Hosted Services for message filtering and archival.

I set up journaling per recommended solution with one exception, I can only have a single mail store in SBS 2003, so the Journal LocalUser mailbox is in the Mail Store being journaled.

What happens is every message sent to anyone gets sent to the journal mailbox dosens if not hundreds of times.  It generated 19K messages in just 5 hours.  I've verified that I can send a single message and it's repeated, so there must be a mail loop.

Is there a way to prevent the Journal mailbox from being journaled?

Thanks,
Fred

well that's strange, I rarely deal with SBS but I am sure that I've enabled journaling on a single mailbox store before with no loops whatsoever

Well there are 2 solutions I can think off

1) make your journal a mail enabled public folder
2) make your journal an external email address (mail enabled contact)
