I'm configuring SBS 2003 to communicate with MS Hosted Services for message filtering and archival.<br />

I set up journaling per recommended solution with one exception, I can only have a single mail store in SBS 2003, so the Journal LocalUser mailbox is in the Mail Store being journaled.<br />

What happens is every message sent to anyone gets sent to the journal mailbox dosens if not hundreds of times. &nbsp;It generated 19K messages in just 5 hours. &nbsp;I've verified that I can send a single message and it's repeated, so there must be a mail loop.<br />

Is there a way to prevent the Journal mailbox from being journaled?<br />

SBS 2003 Exchange Journaling

Interactions between email servers and clients are governed by email protocols. The three most common email protocols are POP, IMAP and MAPI. Small Business Server (SBS) is a line of server operating systems targeted at small businesses by bundling the operating system with a number of other Microsoft products that would normally need to be purchased or licensed separately. The most notable inclusions are Exchange, SQL Server, SharePoint and ISA/TMG (Microsoft's firewall and proxy server).

Exchange is the server side of a collaborative application product that is part of the Microsoft Server infrastructure. Exchange's major features include email, calendaring, contacts and tasks, support for mobile and web-based access to information, and support for data storage.
