asked on

Is the a connector/adaptor that will allow me to connect rj-45 to GB port on Cisco 3750 swith

Gigabit connector on a C3750 Cisco switch, I have a few 3750 switches,  they have 24 ports that are fastethernet and 2 ports that are gigabit Ethernet, I need to daisy chain from the core 3750 to the other switche, I would like to use the gigabit ports so that I can have a gigabit backbone from switch to switch, I know fiber can be used with a SPF module, but fiber is not a option, I need to use cat5 for the connection from switch. What Im asking is if anyone knows if there are connectors that will allow me to connect a RJ-45 connector  to the gb ports on 3750 swithces. All switches are Catalyst 3750.

I think what you need is this:
         GLC-T=   1000BASE-T SFP

or this

GLC-ZX-SM=   1000BASE-ZX SFP

Please let me know...

How far apart are the switches? Stackwise is the way to go if they're close enough. 3 meters is the longest stackwise cable you can get.

If they're further apart and you want to use the gigabit ports, you'll need to have your fiber terminated with SFP connectors as the 3750's don't have GBIC slots.
