Compact does not appear to be working...

I have an IMAP email account with several sub-folders.  It appears that when I click on Compact for the Trash, nothing happens.  As a matter of fact, when I go into Horde mail, I see that what's in Horde's trash folder doesn't show up in Thunderbird.  I had over 3500 messages in the trash on the server, yet Thunderbird only shows about 24 at this time.

Any ideas why?

Hello rmmarsh,

What do you want to happen when you click on compact for Trash folder?  Compacting the mail does not delete any emails. It only removes spaces between the mail.

To delete mail in Trash, highlight and then hit the Delete key.  A line will be drawn through the subject.  Then compact will permanently delete the mail.

Hope this helps!

That must have been my problem... I didn't know I had to delete the emails in the trash folder before I did a compact.

Thanks, war1...
