I need advice on make and model of laptop with Intel VT enabled

Just check the CPU on any laptop you're considering here to see if it supports Hardware virtualization "Intel Virtualization Technology" listed in the Supported Features:  http://processorfinder.intel.com/Default.aspx

For example, here are all of the Core 2 Duo Mobile CPU's that have VT support:

Hey, also check that the motherboard on the laptop supports Intel VT and "Execute disable bit' support.

TheNew Intel Chips and Motherboards support this feature, but confirm this in the manufacturer's leaflet before a purchase.

Yes that is the problem.  Most laptop vendors disable the feature and don't allow the feature to be enabled in the BIOS.  I'm trying to find the answer to this question as well.  With Windows 7 and XP mode, VT is required to run this new feature.  My current Dell 1720 disables VT.
