AS3: masking

i am masking movie clicp by another movie clip, it works but i faced this error:

TypeError: Error #1006: value is not a function.
      at main_fla::MainTimeline/frame71()

is the way i am using is wrong?
chairs_mc.mask(cir_mc)

To set a mask using AS2, you would use this approach:
  box_mc.setMask(circle_mc);

To set a mask using AS3, you would use this:
box_mc.mask = circle_mc;

Hope this helps resolve the error message.
