Calling client-side javascript from server-side vbscript ?

My question is very simple, but yet difficult:

- I have a vbscript which asks a user for username and password. This is done in a form.
- This form is submitted using the "get"-function to the same .asp-page as it was called from.
- The .asp-page decodes the parameters from the submit-call and does an authenication check against Active Directory.

- If the authentication check is OK (the username/password-pair are validated by the Active Directory) I want to call a client-side javascript function which maps network drives using the username and password as authentication parameters. (Disregard security issues here, the users are already authenticated though the use of a VPN-tunnel).

How can I do this ?  Calling a client-side javascript directly from server-side vbscript is not a trivial task as far as I have understood..

Any help would be appreciated.

Ajax is perfect for this.

The client calls/executes a server side application, passing whatever information is needed, and the response is returned to the client using a callback technique.
