cisco config

I have a new switch that I would like to used. Replacing an existing one.
This one is straight out of the box.
How to I transfer the the config settings from the old switch to the new one?

Are both switches the same make/model?  If so, the easiest way for you would be to just do a "show run" command, copy the output to notepad and paste it back into the new switch.

If they aren't the same model/you may need to alter some portion of the configs.

Also, the other way would be to setup your computer as a tftp server and issue the command "copy run tftp://x.x.x.x".  Then in the new switch you could type "copy tftp://x.x.x.x/configfilename start" and reboot the switch.
