Unable to open Word attachment in Citrix

Hello,

I have two Citrix profiles created called Office 2007 and Lotus Notes 7.  The profiles are streamed to a XenApp 5.0 W2K8 x64 server. I have linked the Office 2007 profile to the Lotus Notes 7 profile so I can open Office attachments in Lotus Notes. When I open Lotus Notes and try to open a doc or docx file attachment I encounter the following error message:

WINWORD.EXE - Unable To Locate Component
This application has failed to start because MFAPHOOK.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem. OK

If I open any other MS Office 2007 attachment (.pptx, .xlsx) I do not encounter any issues. To workaround the issue I have to open MS Word 2007 first, launch Lotus Notes, then open the Word attachment. The attachment opens in the Word application already opened.

Could you please help me resolve the issue with opening Word attachments under Lotus Notes in Citrix?

Thank you,
D

I know it's not the cleanest way but if you add the path to winword in the envrioment variables path, it should be able to find it then...

You could run filemon or regmon during the exicution of the app and see where and what the EXE is looking for if you want to narrow it down.

Citrix confirms the issue to be a problem with their application.  Here is the Citrix support documentation explaining the issue:
