Cognos doesn't create true binary excel flles (can't, actually, because that file format is owned by Microsoft). &nbsp;Cognos Excel files are essentially HTML files with excel specific tags. &nbsp;As such, they can really only be view by Excel, or applicaitons that recognize the alternate HTML-based file format
