I am concerned that our network could be hacked via our WIFI , and lets say another machine got on our network, I would like to find a cost effective application that could send me an email notifiing me that a new mac address has entered the network,  I would like it to also notify me when a new IP address becomes active on the network, in case there is any Mac address spoofing.

I would like the app to allow me to note all the machines that are valid on the network, that way when new ones come on , I can be notified.

I have seen the application auto-scan network but it seems a little fluky and does not save settings and such.   Can any one recomend a good piece of software that will do this ?

Hi,

You can setup an Intrusion Detection System like tripwire and snort;
