Integrating email on Blackberry, Gmail, and Thunderbird

Hi Experts,

I would like to integrate the email on my BlackBerry 8310, Gmail, and Thunderbird so that if I have read my emails on any one of these apps, the others show it as read as well.

Is this possible?  Even if I could just synchronize my BlackBerry handheld with Gmail, I would be happy.  I hate going through my BlackBerry and marking each message as read, after the fact.

Thanks.

The suggestion above will synchronize deletions, but that doesn't allow for archiving, which is a primary gmail feature.  Would you be opposed to using the gmail app for blackberry?  You can read more/download it at http://www.google.com/mobile/default/mail.html.  It allows exact synchronization to gmail in terms of read mail, and allows archiving and searching through all mail.  Send to contacts are also synchronized, saving on typing time.

Hey Folks,

Garycutri: I didn't know about your suggestion.  I will try it out tomorrow morning and see how it goes.  Not exactly what I was looking for, but it is definitely better than my current situation.

007:  I have used the Gmail app for BB in the past.  It is good but I prefer using the BB email client.

Thanks for your help.  I will keep you posted.
Setting up IMAP on both your Blackberry and in Thunderbird (rather than POP) would be the best solution then.

Be sure to have reconciliation enabled as an option on your carrier's BIS page and in your device in the inbox options > email reconciliation

_007,

Can you recommend any websites/links on how to do this?

Thanks.

Thanks folks.  Don't have time to try it out yet properly but I'll assume you are both right.
