Why does Windows Live Messenger (Build 14.0) Keep dropping out?

Hi! My Windows Live messenger keeps fropping out, and therefore, I am reconnecting more than i am chatting! :( I run Windows XP and I also tried it on a Vista Ultimate, but they keep dropping out. (Note that these are NOT Laptops, and they are desktops)
