I have purchased the required CALS for implementing a new Exchange Server, hosted on a Server 2008 platform.  i have just tried to enter them and cannot find any way of doing this like i used to on Server 2003.  Is it true that they no longer have to be entered, I just need to possess the correct amount for our organsiation?  If so, why does MS want me to 'activate' them?  Thanks in advance!

In server 2008 there is no need to enter the CAL's.  If you purchased through the same channel as your initial purchase, they should be activated already.  You can check online at www.microsoft.com/licensing

We subscribe to the Microsoft Action Pack, but purchased the CALS through a re-seller.  Do I need to activate these CALS with MS?

Do they appear in your license profile or relationship summary?

Basically, if it shows up there, you don't need to do anything.  If it isn't there, you need to contact microsoft to sort it out.

You know, big brother always knows best.  You should not question the great and powerful Gates.
