Force computer to pull updates from WSUS Server

I've just installed WSUS and am using one computer for testing.  Everything seems to be working and now I'm just waiting for the computer to pull the updates from the WSUS Server.

Is there a command to run on the computer (or a way from the WSUS Server) to force the updates to install on the computer?

You can set group policy to force the computer to get those updates.  It is in the GPO Computers under windows settings.  That will force the computer to look at your WSUS for updates.  You can then set deadlines for the updates to require them to be install by certain times.

Check out http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc720539.aspx for more information

Hope this helps

gpudate assumes you have a gpo in place to run updates.  Use the second method if your not using a gpo.
Simply type Wuauclt /Detectnow into the run command box in the start menu
