Hi Experts,

I got a remote object hosted on IIS which provide a method to execute update queries onto my database. My client application is a windows service. In the OnShutdown() method, when I call the method to update my DB it throws a SQL exception as below. The query doesnt get executed, which simply marks the client as inactive in my DB table. Is there anyway to achieve the same
Psuedo code:

class myService
{

 onstart()
   { update table set client=active}

 onstop()
   { update table set client=inactive }

}

Message: A connection was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the pre-login handshake. (provider: SSL Provider, error: 0 - A system shutdown is in progress.)
LineNumber: 0
Source: .Net SqlClient Data Provider
Procedure:

Open in new window

Yes....Can you suggest an alternate way in which my service could inform the sql  server to run the query and carry on execution without waiting for its completion.
