Word 2007 pasting images results in white squares

I'm trying to paste content from a webpage being viewed in IE7 to Word 2007 but the images are showing up as white squares. I've tried to copy/paste the image alone as well as copy/paste with the accompanying text but get the same results

1. Click the Office button in the upper left-hand corner.
2. Click the Word Options button.
3. Click the Advanced tab.
4. Under Show Document Content, uncheck Show Picture Placeholders.
5. Click OK.

Hope that helps.

Unfortunately this just takes away the black border around the white images.

I'm able to successfully copy/paste the pictures and other content if I save the page as a .mht file, so have made this my workaround for now but its not ideal.
Can we try with some other webbrowser like mozilla or chrome...??
We are just trying to isolate the issue
Its the same with Mozilla but I haven't tried with Chrome (I haven't installed it on this machine).

I've been using IE7 because the formatting of the text has carried into Word 2007 properly, but it wasn't in Firefox.
