I have setup a domain where each user has a rights of a Domain User, which is limited. Since that happened the Yahoo messenger smileys show up as blanks. I have tried  switching it back. and smileys came back. Id like to keep the users on a limited access so giving users admin rights is a no no. What could be preventing smileys from showing up? Any tips? Maybe share similar experience?

First guess is that the smiley icons are in a directory/file that the users do not have access to.  Just a pure guess, no basis in experience.

Basic you have to copy Smileys directory (ex: C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\Media\Smileys) to ProgramData same directory  (ex: C:\ProgramData\Yahoo!\Messenger\Media\Smileys)  if you don't have the structure - created. This solution work for Win7 for XP is the same but you have to copy to applicationa data structure for all user (ex: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Yahoo!\Messenger)

This is for case if you don't find a solution.
