Spooler SubSystem App has encountered a problem and needs to close ...

I keep getting this annoying popup message, my printer was working fine - now it wont print and keeps displaying this message.

I have tried resinstalling the printer, reinstalling SP2 and starting the print spooler service.

Running Windows XP and the printer is a Canon mx300.
Any Ideas???

Re-installed the OS in the end. Didn't have time. Thanks for the suggestion.

Microsoft has released a Fix It document and file to resolve this issue. View the Microsoft KB document titled Fix printing problems by resetting the print spooler (Article ID: 2000007) . This will reset the print spooler back to default settings.
