Camtasia Studio 6 is the easiest way to convert movies to flash, you also get the option to save it as a webpage and all I then do is host that page on my server.

How To Stream In Flash

Streaming Macromedia FLV files in flash is pretty easy. After you've got your Flash Communications Server hosting package, you just upload your flv files to your web directory and set up your movie. Your flash movie can be hosted anywhere. Only the FLV file is required on the Windows server. Below is an example of a simple streaming flv file to get your feet wet.

Here's the Flash Action Script you will need to make the Flash Streaming Example shown above.
 1. Create a new Flash File and call it cinema.
 2. In the timeline 1st frame put the following code below.

THIS IS YOUR ACTION CODE WHICH MAKES THIS STREAMING MOVIE WORK
THIS IS MEANT TO BE A HELLO WORLD APPLICATION.
A MORE VERSATILE EXAMPLE WITH BUFFERING AND CONTROLS IS POSSIBLE.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
//Turn on built-in debugging from flash (optional)
#include "NetDebug.as"
stop();
//Open a new NetConnection to attach a remote object
nc=new NetConnection();
//Connect to your project on the Win2k Server through rtmp
//RTMP=(Real-Time Messaging Protocol)
//rtmp://host[:port]/appName[/instanceName]
nc.connect("rtmp:/cinema/video");
//Declare a Streaming Object called NetStream
NewStream=new NetStream(nc);
//MyVideo is the video instance on the stage
MyVideo.attachVideo(NewStream);
//Push Play on the movie
NewStream.play("timescape");
  The above code goes in frame 1 of your movie.
 Next, you'll want to embed a video stream object into your swf file.
 1. Open the library and create a 'New Video' object.
 2. drag the Streaming Video Object to the stage a name it MyVideo
 3. Publish your movie.
 4. You should have a swf file now called cinema.swf   Now let's make a .flv file we will stream into our new object. 1. Create another New Video object in your library. 2. Right click on the object and select Properties. 3. Import a flash friendly video format with the import button. 4. Export the New Video you just made as a .flv file by clicking on Export. 5. You now should have a .flv file called timescape.flv   1. You need a Flash MX Streaming Server on a Win2k box.
 2. Create your directory structure which will exist on the streaming server.
 cinema cinema.swf
cinema.html
streams videotimescape.flv

3. Upload the cinema folder to your Win2k server (running Flash MX Communications Server)
 Put cinema here.
 wwwroot\flashcom\applications\cinema 4. You're done. Test your stream by going to the url.
 http://yourdomain/flashcom/applications/cinema/cinema.html.

  5. sign up for a Flash MX Streaming Hosting Account.
