The notes in the TechNet article (<a href="http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc263467.aspx" rel="ugc nofollow">http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc263467.aspx</a>) say that after my microsoft.sharepoint.porta<wbr />l.dll should be at 12.0.6341.5000, but mine is at 12.0.6339.5000. Exactly 2 versions below again.<br />

I ran the SharePoint 2007 October Cumulative Update. It is supposed to update Microsoft.SharePoint.porta<wbr />l.dll to version 12.0.6331.5000. My version is 12.0.6229.5000 - unchanged since running update. Here is what I have done so far:<br />
Ran all 3 hotfixes in the update<br />
Ran the config wizard<br />
Rebooted<br />
Ran all 3 hotfixes again - all returned message that this update had been applied.<br />

I was going to run the December Cumulative Update anyway, but I cannot download it - the page says there is no update available.<br />

I am now downloading the February 2009 Cumulative Update - maybe that will run correctly.<br />

I ran the SharePoint 2007 October Cumulative Update. It is supposed to update Microsoft.SharePoint.portal.dll to version 12.0.6331.5000. My version is 12.0.6229.5000 - unchanged since running update. Here is what I have done so far:
Ran all 3 hotfixes in the update
Ran the config wizard
Rebooted
Ran all 3 hotfixes again - all returned message that this update had been applied.

I was going to run the December Cumulative Update anyway, but I cannot download it - the page says there is no update available.

I am now downloading the February 2009 Cumulative Update - maybe that will run correctly.

I am hoping for advice/insight.

SharePoint 2007 October Update failed
