Calander items are disapraring and then reapearing

We are running exchange 2007 and office 2007 client in cached mode.  His assistant is using outlook 2002 (XP).  She has permissions to access his calander and make changes.  Appointments in his calander are ending up in the deleted items and both users are insisting they are not deleting.  Also some calander items are creating duplicate events.

Make sure the Delegate has their Outlook account settings on the advanced tab not selected for the Option Download shared folders ( not including mail items) . This is an issue if checked as their view will not always be correct.

The duplicates may be created by the delegate if they do not see the Owner's appointments in thier view. that was our experience. Have them open the Owners calendar in OWA to see if they are missing there before adding via Outlook. This would confirm that they are not on the exchange server directly. Also the duplicates should show they were submitted at different times or be logged seperately.

If they are in the deleted items they are not missing. Check to see if any rules in either client's outlook could affect the calendar items! Rules should never be used that apply to Calendar items!
