I need to take differential backups for SQL SERVER 2005 Database..
i m using the code the .NET 2.0 FX and VB.NET
hence, when i click a button i m calling the Stored Procedure as it runs the differential backups for the particular Database....

MY Question is here ?

First i have taken full backup for the database ex: 200 MB [size of the full backup]
and then after i run differential backup for the same database.
but i dont understand that without knowing when the database full backup is taken or without specifying the last taken full back up file on what basis the differential backup works in sqlserver...

give me any idea on this ??
TO DISK = 'c:\test\testdb.bak'

Not sure what exactly you are asking but in short:
All backups are recorded in the msdb database so simply a database knows when and what kind of backup was taken of it. You can use the information in the backup views to see when the last full backup of a database was and what differential and or transactional backups where taken.
