extending the vga output of a IBM SurePOS 4840-543

we are using IBM SurePOS 4840-543 machines and are looking into using external VGA monitors for customer screens

windows would have to be able to extend to the secondary monitor, i however am not able to find a way to do that, it only displays in clone mode

Hi. In order to display different information on 2 monitors, the graphics hardware has to support this feature. I remember some older laptops used to have this problem - ie. you could have either LCD or VGA or both displaying the same image, but couldn't extend your desktop from one display onto the other..

I haven't used Sure1 hardware for a long time, and I don't know whether the model you are using supports this feature - if you contact IBM (Lenovo) I'm sure they would advise you. It could be that you simply need the latest drivers.. Also, if all else fails, you may be able to install a second graphics adapter into the PoS terminal - that would allow you to do what you want..
An independent video adapter is available as an option to display a multimedia image on a second LCD for advertising or upselling
