I'm currently creating a procedure video training site on our companies intranet site that managers can upload videos in avi format and convert it to an flv for a youtube style intranet site. I'm currently trying to get my head arround FFMPEG to do this.

I'm currently using the command prompt in windows to get used to the comands to send to it before integrating it into

I am using the command: -

ffmpeg -i C:\vid.avi -ar 22050 -ab 56 -b 200 -r 12 -f flv -s 320x240 -ac 1 c:\out.fl

But I keep getting the error message: -

Could not open 'c:\out.flv'

What am I doing wrong please?

Many Thanks

    Hi ljhodgett,

It might be a security issue where something is preventing ffmpeg from writing to the drive root.  What happens if you change the output to:

    c:\documents and settings\username\desktop\out.fl

Your right. Good old Vista!!! I found the problem not long ago that you have to run cmd in administrator mode for it to work.

    Many Thanks for your help.
