Clone hard drive...

Here's what I'd like to do...

1. Boot up from my system drive
2. Clone that system drive (that I'm running from), to another hard drive that I have in the system or connected via firewire, usb, etc...

I can do this on a Mac with Carbon Copy Cloner, but looking for something similar on a PC.

Norton Ghost, Acronis, Clonezila, etc. can do it as you used to with Mac. But when you buy new drive nowaday, you should have a software comes with it, use it to clone and it is free.

Hi ryanasalazar,

I agree with PUNKY on his recommendations, however Acronis makes a great product called Migrate Easy 7. Here's the link: http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/migrateeasy/

I'd recommend Drive Snapshot; it's small (no install required), cheap, and quite good.  We use it for all of our OS backups.

g4u, a linux boot cloner works well. I've also used norton ghost, acronis and snapshot.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/freeghost/

all of the above work well and are free.

Use Hiren boot CD very simple and easy way for cloning. It have around about 10 cloning software integrated in it. And it has may more essential tools as well.

Just for information, Hiren is illegal and not allow in EE.

As I read the question, one of the requirements is for hot cloning.  The boot CDs, of course won't do that.  Ryan, if that's the case, you might want to clarify.
