JUst looking at buying 20/30 laptops but wanted to setup 1 and then deploy out to the others. This is not going on a domain just for home workers. Best way to deploy this ?

I was thinking of sysprep as it is not server based but anyone any other ideas ?

If your willing to spend alittle money, Acronis ( has some good solutions that are easily manageable. Probably the cheaper and easiest would be their True Image. Make an standard image, deploy it to each laptop and change the workstation name.

BTW we change our workstation name to the Dell service tag from the BIOS via a VB script ;)

nlite is free and a good choice. however, depending on what kind of setup you need, you might find it kind of limited. just check what it can offer and decide if it is the best choice or not
