Unable to start sql server agent

When trying to start it in the sql server configuration Manager. I supply the Built in account as Local Server, Local Service & get a error.
The Service cannot be started, either because it is diabled or because it has no enabled devices associated to it. [0x80070422]

Can you check if Agent XPs are enabled in SQL Server Surface Area Management tool? If not enable it there..

You can also check and enable it in query window as follows -

use master
exec sp_configure 'show advanced options','1'
RECONFIGURE
go

exec sp_configure 'Agent XPs','1'
RECONFIGURE
go

I dont have Surface Area Management tool. Is it because of my Express Advanced Edition of SQL ?

The Express edition does not have SQL Server Agent feature at all.
