Reading From Smart Cards

I would like a code sample...preferably in VB but I can accept C# on how to READ information from a smart card. Not detect the smart card reader, not get details about the smart card reader and not sending information about the smart card ready. I'm only interested on retrieving specific information from the Smart Card itself.

I would prefer I don't get links to:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa380149(VS.85).aspx
and
http://www.aspfree.com/c/a/.NET/Smart-Cards-in-.NET/

I'm really just looking for a code bit of how to access data...such as name, date, time...ect...

Thank you.

I'm also looking for the same, and working on it, after extensive research online, one article stipulated that the reader should just come up as an external disk drive, and that you can read and write files to a card... I have yet to test this theory.

Promising links have lead to dead ends mostly, but I think it all depends on the type of card you are using also as to how it reads and writes data to it... it's all quite confusing.

Try this: http://www.aspfree.com/c/a/.NET/Smart-Cards-in-.NET/

Good Luck!

Here's a CSharp sample I have found, if you manage to convert it successfully to VB then please post a copy back, I have been having such a hard time finding any generic vb.net samples online! you'll have to change the extension from .txt to .zip and then remove the .txt extension from all of the files in the project.
